Thanksgiving
We have never really been a “holiday” family. We would eat Turkey on Thanksgiving and Christmas, but other than that it was never a really big family get together. There were never really big days in our lives, on Easter we would fall asleep watching “The Robe”, on Christmas it was wake up early, flush the toilet till the parents woke up, but no real traditions. I kind of like this no real tradition aspect. We have always been a small family and never really did any kind of big smashing party.
This year, instead of going up to LA and spending time with my parents and brother, we invited them down to the casa in San Diego. Which meant we needed to clean the house, I started Tuesday and we did a good job. Rearranged the furniture in the house, made the living room more open and inviting. Rewired the computer and the lights so that when we come into the house we can actually use our light switch to turn on the lights. Scrubbed each individual tile in the house. The house gleamed.
Dinner was good, laughing at Joe was always fun, laughing at the old man was equally as fun. All in all it was a good time had by all and now the turkey has taken control and we need to sleep.
